Empowerment of the underprivileged

How can you raise awareness about Women’s education?

There have been countless stories of women successfully leading different industries. Governments and many of the best NGOs, in India and abroad, have been making consistent efforts to empower women. As a result, India’s country-wide female literacy rate has reached 70.3%, which is much higher than in previous decades.

Despite all this, India still has one of Asia’s lowest female literacy rates.

Key Factors Affecting Women’s Literacy Rate in India

  • Social discrimination
  • Gender inequality
  • Emphasis on domestic chores
  • Rising costs of education
  • Lack of interest
  • Early marriages
  • Travel and safety issues

And this needs serious attention because women’s education is critical to the entire development of the country and the world.

“If you educate a man, you educate an individual. However, if you educate a woman, you educate a whole family. Women empowered means mother India empowered”.

Governments have introduced many welfare schemes for women’s education, such as ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao,’ CBSE Scholarship Scheme,’ and ‘Ladli Laxmi Yojana in Madhya Pradesh’, to name a few.

While the government plays its part, you can also contribute toward women’s education.

Ways to Spread Awareness about Women’s Education

1. Donate Money to Educate

Poverty is one of the major causes of women’s illiteracy in India. Lack of money also hinders the efforts of many NGOs. When you donate a nominal (or any) amount of money to educate women, you help make a difference. No matter the price or efforts of contribution, it will certainly make a big difference in women’s lives. You can search for some of the best NGOs and visit them to donate any sum of money you want. You can also donate online to NGOs that are preoccupied with empowering women’s literacy. With the online option, you can donate from anywhere in the world.

2. Volunteer

Google the ‘best NGO near me,’ and you’ll find a list of organizations in your neighborhoods. Choose an NGO that supports the cause you’re looking to support. Then, you can visit the organization in person to know how you can contribute.

Generally, you can give weekend classes to people living in slums, evening classes to working adults, and educate older adults. You need to be consistent with your volunteering efforts. It’s a highly rewarding and fulfilling experience.

3. Spread Word About Women's Empowerment

Help families understand how women’s education can make a difference in their lives and houses. Even if she doesn’t work professionally, an educated woman can better manage her household. In addition, she can support her entire family by using her education at the personal or professional level.

You can work with an NGO or individually to spread awareness about women’s empowerment. This will encourage people to send out their women to study.

Just look around you for every opportunity to raise awareness about women’s education. We understand that most people don’t get enough time to volunteer. But you’ve also got the option to donate online to NGOs. After all, knowledge is the most precious gift you can give to anyone.
